Oct 26, 2014 I am trying to migrate everything on my Dell laptop to my new Apple laptop. Migration Assistant seems to install on the Dell, but when I try to open it and run it, I am told to repair it. I do this, try to run again and again I am told to repair. I ran troubleshooter which said there was an incompatibility problem.

Trying plugging into a different USB port if you are using a USB drive, the ports on the back of the computer usually work best. You can also try changing the drive letter. There are steps outlined in this thread that may help you. Someone else fixed the problem by doing this. “I had a similar problem. Went to the properties for my ext hdd through device manager and changed the removal policy from the default quick removal to better performance and everything is working well now. Hope this helps some off you.”I'd tried all that and it didn't work. I can access the drive as usual and play music, watch videos on it et cetera. It's just when I try to copy my Music (or my Video folder for that matter) it just doesn't do anything. Usually the folder appears on the new drive and the copy dialogue box appears, but nothing happens when I do it.
